Master's of Music: Violin Performance

Learn violin from a professional who can show you the tricks of the trade with quick results!

When students take lessons from me, they gain knowledge in technique, musicality, but also in ease and comfortability. I make sure we learn about proper posture, different bowing styles, left hand work, how to make a line sound beautiful, how to play a tough passage with ease, etc. I also focus on making sure we prevent future injuries that can occur over time that many musicians tend to face when playing improperly. This is done by consistently reminding the students to play in a relaxed and loose manor. We "re-learn" our motor skills, in a sense, because if we know exactly how a movement is made, we can relate it to how we make a similar movement while playing the violin. My students are never afraid to be curious and ask questions. There are many open conversations about why we do something. Sometimes teachers will make students play music a certain way, but the student does not know why. I can help provide a why and if I don't have one, we can find one together.
