I grew up in San Diego and graduated from Francis Parker School and later, Northwestern University in Illinois. I am a 30 year-old educator and gigging musician. For several years I taught at a local high school, working with fabulous students and talented faculty. I teach many styles, including classical, rock, blues, jazz, country, and others. I love working with students who have goals in mind, helping motivate them to realize those goals, and recognizing their progress.
In private lessons, I like to first go over with the student her/his goals and interests - why they want to learn the instrument, what kind of music they listen to, what abilities they currently have and would like to have, etc. We can then make a lesson plan according those goals. I look forward to working with you!
I have been busy gigging and teaching private lessons in San Diego since graduating from Northwestern University in 2009.
