I have been a dance, gymnastics and tumbling/acrobatics coach for over 12 years. I was competitive in both artistic and rhythmic gymnastics soaring into the National level competitive circuit in both. My coaching specialty is floor and tricks, however, I am equally skilled and prepared to teach any other apparatus as well as rhythmic gymnastics. In addition to my experience as a gymnast I also have over 12 years experience in teaching various forms of dance. As a former professional ballet dancer for Southwest Ballet Company in Pittsburgh, PA I have worked with many talented and wonderful teachers and bring their wisdom, discipline and teaching methods to my coaching style. I am confident in teaching all ages and skill levels of students and have worked with toddlers through adults. I hold a Certification in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Business. My MBA has helped me to create solid lesson plans and manage and sustain my own teaching business. I work with each individual students needs to help them achieve what they want to learn, whether it is a specific skill, choreography, strength, or to just improve overall. I can construct a safe, progressive plan to help the student achieve their goal. My philosophy is simple; to teach students through safe, progressive movements that will build strength, increase flexibility, build confidence and help them to reach their goal with great success. *** Lesson Details *** First lesson is typically an evaluation of your skill set, what you want to accomplish and how long it may take to get you there. Each lesson we will focus on your goals as well as focus on improving overall flexibility, strength and technique. It is not enough to just master one specific skill, to get there it takes an overall improvement of your abilities, this will help to make you the best you can be at your chosen discipline. *** Studio Equipment *** I have access to several studios for dance, or for tumbling. Panel mats can be used for all types of tumbling and acrobatics. Dance floors, mirrors, and stereo systems are available at each studio I utilize for all of your dance needs. *** Travel Equipment *** I can bring panel mats with me to your location, and portable stereo equipment. *** Specialties *** I specialize in ballet, acrobatics, gymnastics, and jazz dance for all ages and skill levels. I work in progressions and look forward to taking your skills to the next level safely and with great technique.
