Flute with Samantha B.

I am a high school band director in NC. I hold a Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Education (K-12) from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (2019). I graduated Cum Laude as a member of the Esther G. Maynor Honors College. I am also a member of the National Association for Music Education as well as the professional music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota. Flute students can expect to improve week to week in their technique. Every student has a unique tone; I teach students to release any tension to create a beautiful, rich sound. I can help any student to play with confidence and expression. I teach High School students mainly, but I do have significant experience teaching middle school students as well. I have played the flute for 15 years and have taught lessons or public school band for 6 of those years. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, or to learn how to play contemporary music, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student. My personal passion is classical repertoire, but I firmly believe that great technique and tone are essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician.
