Have you or your child always wanted to learn a string instrument, but weren't sure where to begin? Are you a grown-up with fond memories of orchestra class, and are now looking to rekindle your passion for music-making? No matter your age or skill level, I'm here to help you reach your goal! Classically trained in both violin and viola, I received my Bachelor's in Performance from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in 2011. I love exploring many different musical genres, whether it's Bach, Bollywood, Celtic, or Klezmer. I've performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to comic book conventions, and believe that learning a string instrument should be all about expressing yourself through whatever style of music excites you the most. I'll guide you through essential technique such as position, bow-hold, intonation, tone, as well as how to avoid unnecessary pain and fatigue while playing. No sight-reading skills? No problem! We can incorporate learning notation in our lessons, or if you prefer, lessons can be conducted entirely by ear--both methods of learning are equally valid and valuable. If you're already an intermediate/higher-level student, we can work on refining technique further, take on more challenging repertoire, and prepare you for auditions. Whatever your violin or viola dreams are, reach out and let me know. I can't wait to help you reach them!
