Grasp and retain more of the Bible than you ever thought you could. After 35 years of intensely studying the Bible in many translations, including the Greek and Hebrew, I have developed one of the most powerful and exciting systems of Bible study and discipleship. With it, you’ll be able to minister to anyone at any time on any topic of the Bible.
I have 25 years’ experience teaching and pastoring students 3rd grade through high school as well as adult ministry and leading worship. I have shared the Gospel around the world on more than 17 short term mission trips to Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and India, and have smuggled Bibles into a restricted country. I’ve had the privilege of leading more than 2,400 people in praying to receive Christ as their Savior.
There’s nothing more important or rewarding than studying God’s Word. It’s my greatest passion, and I love teaching it. Too many people miss the opportunity that we have in His Word to commune with and learn from the Creator of the universe. The Bible lets us do that any time we want. We can actually sit at the feet of our Lord Jesus and learn directly from Him through the Word of God.
The Word of God is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12), and it accomplishes what God sends it out to do (Isaiah 55:11). Matthew 6:21 says “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” 1 John 5:14-15 tells us that when we ask God for anything within His will, we are assured that we have what we ask. I have always asked that God and His Word would be my treasure rather than the things of this world.
When He is our treasure, it’s our pleasure to spend time with Him in His Word. We do it out of joy rather than duty. This is my philosophy of ministry: to inspire people to want to draw near to God rather than motivate them to conform to a Christian “ideal” out of guilt. I want to impart to my students a lifelong passion for God and His Word.
I have taught various Bible studies over the years for youth and adults. Some have been affiliated with churches and others have been independent. I have engaged in effective, in-the-trenches street evangelism.
I went with JVMI on more than a dozen short term mission trips where I led early morning worship, regular morning worship for the entire team, served as the trip photographer, and spent each day in the prayer room where patients visiting the free, week-long medical clinic would come for prayer. Here, I shared the Gospel using the Scriptures according to the individual requesting prayer - Jewish, Muslim, unbelieving religious, etc.+ Read More
I taught Bible classes to Youth Group on Sundays and Wednesday nights, getting them excited about studying God's Word. I led worship for the Youth Group and taught them how to lead worship as well. We formed a worship band that played during the adult worship service as well as played at local coffee shops.+ Read More
Led and taught 3rd-12th graders from Open Door Fellowship and White Mountain Bible Church in Sunday School classes and worship, and camps.
Along with a small team of men from multiple churches, I smuggled Bibles into a Muslim country and encouraged the underground church there with Bible teaching, worship and prayer.
Rusty is an encouraging Bible teacher. He knows the Bible extremely well and He loves God's Word. His respect for God's Word is inspiring. He makes you want to dig in and study what God is saying to us in the Bible.
I took guitar lessons from Rusty for about two and a half years when I was in high school. One thing that makes him such a good teacher is that he is incredibly patient with his students. He will show you what you need to learn and spend however long it takes for you to get it. He makes guitar so interesting and fun. He knows guitar like the back of his hand, and seeing someone who has so much passion for an instrument and knows so much about it – that alone makes you want to learn. I highly recommend Rusty because if it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t know literally half of what I now know on the guitar.+ Read More
I've never known anyone who knows the Bible like Rusty does. He can pull up Scriptures from all over the Bible on any given subject. He has wrestled with difficult doctrines and seemingly contradictory Scriptures to achieve an understanding that encompasses the whole Bible. He cares deeply about teaching people how to study the Bible and "test all things," as the Scripture says, so as to not be vulnerable to "every wind of doctrine."+ Read More
