About Rowan H.

I studied the Suzuki method and am familiar with all of the Suzuki pieces. Since becoming a teacher, I've branched out to incorporate many different ideas and methods from a wide range of sources including my own teachers at Indiana University, Michigan State University and Stony Brook University. I'm very patient and flexible when it comes to selecting student repertoire. You will learn a good basic set-up and good sound from the beginning! Although I've taught many young kids from the age of 5, I most commonly teach students who are in elementary school and middle-school. My knowledge of the music for violin is broad, as I have performed professionally in many guises, including as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player.
