I am an enthusiastic teacher who focuses on helping my students master the basics. I obtained a double degree in music and music education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where I studied piano with Clement C. Petrillo. I furthered my education with a master's degree in music education from U.T.S.A.. My students will benefit from my knowledge of repertoire and technique to achieve their goals. I strive to find music my students will want to play that is accessible, but will also stretch their abilities. I have taught in both the public and private schools for over thirty-five years and I know how important it is for students to feel both comfortable and challenged. *** Lesson Details *** I strive to maintain a comfortable, but professional, atmosphere in my home studio. I use the Robert Pace piano series as a base curriculum, but include other method books when supplements are needed. Beginners can expect to be playing with both hands, using basic chords to harmonize known tunes, and playing in three keys, C,F,and G, within three to six months. More advanced students can expect similar rates of progress depending on their musical goals and level of commitment. *** Specialties *** Kodaly method as applied to piano
