Hello! My name is Bobby. I teach general music in a CPS school, and I have taught guitar lessons privately for over 5 years. I studied classical guitar and music education at Valparaiso University, and have my Masters Degree in Urban Education from National-Louis University. I grew up playing and teaching in many styles - Nirvana songs, classical preludes, Iron Maiden... the list goes on.

I got my first guitar as a Christmas present when I was 8 years old, and it changed my whole life. I love helping young students get started on the path towards being a life-long learner and lover of music. But I enjoy teaching students of any age, and have had students from 8 years old to 30 years old.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to working with you!

I played in a band with Bobby for a couple years and he is a amazing musician. He is familiar with a wide range of styles and techniques. He is calm and patient. If anyone is looking for guitar teacher I would highly recommend him.

Robert is such a great teacher! He definitely knows his stuff when it comes to guitars! I felt relaxed, he was so kind and helpful. If I hadn't moved out of state then I would still be going to him. Take a class with him!! DO IT!!

Robert is a patient and kind teacher. He is dedicated to learning and helping his students. I had the goal of learning a Gypsy Jazz song on guitar for a local performance. He devoted the time to understand and learn the music, which he was not familiar with at first presentation, in order to teach me and aid in my betterment. We had fun with it and the performance went well. His musical capabilities go beyond guitar, of course, and this shines through with the time I spent with him in and outside of the actual lesson.

As a fellow Chicago Public Schools music teacher within the AUSL network, I have seen firsthand the creativity, drive, and patience Bobby has as a teacher. His passion for music is obvious and his work in K-8 urban schools proves his ability to successfully work with a variety of ages and personalities. I have seen Bobby perform solo on the guitar and know that he has a comprehensive knowledge of and overwhelming love for the instrument. Knowing his work as an elementary teacher, I can only imagine what he is capable of in a 1-on-1 lesson setting!
