Robert is very nice and polite. I think the lesson was sufficient for the first lesson. He gave me homework to work on the D, G, and C chords. We went over the right hand numbering PIMA. I need to determine what my goals are in playing the guitar.
I am very happy with my guitar lesson with Mr. Calva. He is very knowledgeable and very patient. He found out my musical background and goals. He used that to structure my lessons today. He then gave me homework, tips, and short term goals. I am super pleased with his style of teaching. By the way, I am 50 years young...+ Read More

Great person to work with to achieve your goals.
Robert is very professional and dedicated.
At 49 I am an old dog trying to learn a new trick. Robert has been very patient with me and he has been more then accommodating as far as rescheduling lessons for me when I am out of town.
I highly recommend Robert for guitar lessons!!
Patient, understanding, great teacher I couldn't complain! Even when I am running late he stays a bit after to finish answering my questions! I feel like I have learned a lot! I have learned more in only 3 sessions then in other lessons I've had that have lasted more then 2 months! He truly is a great teacher and I look forward to every lesson I have!!!+ Read More
A sound pick!
Robert C. is a calm and patient instructor, an affable man, clearly very knowledgable about his craft and flexible enough to tailor the tuituion to suit your individual needs.
Couldn't be happier
Robert exhibits a lot of patience and understanding. He is teaching my 10 yr old guitar and understands how difficult beginning is. We look forward to many years of continued excellent instruction.
im pacing myself, learning at a pace
Like the lessons but would also like the kids to practice pieces
I do not have much to say because I just had my third lesson last Tuesday Feb 8, 2011. What I saw in Robert is his patience of a professional instructor. I was embarassed a lot when changing chord to chord at the second lesson night but he did not say any word and knew that is ok for the new student.. Off course I did fine and had no trouble to keep the rythm when changing chord to chord at the 3rd lesson according to him
The lessons are not for me....they are for my Grandson, Jonathan. I ask him often if he is learning from Robert and if he is enjoying his lessons. Jonathan ranks Robert highly and is has requested continued lessons with his instructor. He looks forward to his lessons. To me, that says alot! Thank you Robert.+ Read More
Not for kids
I felt I wasted my money on these lessons. Per the instructor, I even went out and bought my grandson a new guitar. I don't think you can capture a young boy's interest by just having him practice a few chords. Would not do it again. Also found out lessons are much cheaper through a local music store.
I've been taking lessons from Robert for 2 months now. As an older student I'd like to say he's Incredible. Flexible to the needs of me the student and my goals while adapting to special needs. He offers constuctive observations while pushing to take that extra step. I'm very satisfied with the progress I'm making in a very short time.
I have nothing but good things to say about Mr. Robert......I thankful for his patience and his ability to teach me this craft......I also wnat to thank take lessons for finding in my opinion....the best guitar instructor for me....thank you.
Robert is a good and patient teacher.
Robert is a Great Instructor. He is very knowledgeable and patient. He even stayed a few extra minutes when I was late this week.
I really enjoyed this last lesson. Even though I lost the strum pattern at times and as badly as I played, I fully enjoyed when Robert broke into the lead while I did the rhythm.
