When I was 5, my mom told me I could take lessons on any instrument I'd like. I chose the flute. She asked me what my second choice was.
I've played violin for 17 years. A graduate of the Suzuki method, I grew up in Denver, where I performed with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra. During senior year of high school, I became a studio assistant for my teacher, and I started teaching privately myself.
I got my Bachelor's in Music from Dartmouth, where I studied with Liesl Doty. I'm currently studying with Charles Wetherbee at CU Boulder, where I'm getting my masters in Violin Performance.
I spent the previous year living in teaching in Minneapolis. I had a large studio of younger students, and I love starting kids on the instrument. My studio is Boulder is mostly comprised of undergraduates, but I'm happy to teach students of all ages and abilities. I strive to be compassionate and fair as a teacher, just as my Suzuki teachers were to me.
I play periodically with Civic, which is the premier training orchestra for young professionals in the country.
Managed and operated a studio of 11 students, in Minneapolis and Boulder.
