I'm a professional bass player in Austin Texas, the Live Music Capital of the World. At one time or another I've played just about every style of music, and I have more than a decade of teaching experience. I love 'opening doors' for students, helping them understand how music works and how they can sound better than ever. I graduated from B.I.T. in Los Angeles and I have thousands of hours of teaching, gigging, and recording experience. I'll share that experience with you!

very good first lesson. I look forward to the next one. Thanks.
Explains material and lessons clearly a great instructor.
I have been studying bass playing techniques and music theory with Rob for several months now. Short story: he's great.
Rob's lesson format is pretty open. If you have specific questions/goals, Rob makes sure that they are addressed. He's been able to give me some great information on various techniques and styles, and I've picked up a good bit of general practical bass knowledge this way.
Rob is VERY knowledgeable about music theory, and its evolution over the centuries. That being said, discussions on music theory are always made relevant to bass playing. This makes learning the theory and patterns very practical, and for me, more approachable.
Gave me excellent instruction and direction for my future bass guitar practicing and development
After only five lessons last summer, I was not able to continue with Rob due to personal time constraints and lack of practice time, but during those lessons Rob gave me invaluable instruction, fixed my hand positions, took me in the direction I wanted to go, and as my last request from him, developed a very comprehensive long term development plan I could follow on my own, as time permitted. Rob was very patient and seemed extremely knowledgeable regarding the specifics of bass guitar technique and theory. Thanks, Rob, for giving me a direction and helping me get started the right way.
