Playing drums is more than just about playing rhythm and keeping time. It is important to understand what role the other instruments have when playing drums. You want to be more than a drummer, you want to be a MUSICIAN. (There are plenty of jokes about this, let's put and end to that!!) I've been playing drums for over 30 years, but my first instrument was trumpet. I also play several other instruments, including guitar and piano. You won't need to be a player of all instruments, but it is helpful to listen to what the other instruments do so that YOU can ADD to it! I can help you learn these skills, as well as all of the important techniques of getting the most out of your drumming without wasting energy, avoiding injury, and (the best part) having fun!
