My objective as a teacher is to give casual learners a chance to love music by teaching a full thorough course generally only taught by expensive teachers to competitive pianists using everything I've learned through my years working under various teachers of the Music Teachers' Association of California, training for the Certificate of Merit Advanced, as well as competing and performing as both a competitive and casual pianist.
I aim to teach piano in a way that is thorough and detailed as of a lesson under a certified Musics Teachers' Association of California, teaching key skills generally evaluated in the Certificate of Merit examination such as sight-reading, music theory, and ear training, while keeping a flexible and relaxed curriculum to encourage casual learners.

About Richard B.

My goal is to use my 8+ years of experience working with variety of teachers from the Music Teachers' Association of California and training for the Certificate of Piano Advanced as a once competitive pianist as well as 3+ years of teaching experience to give my students a chance to learn almost everything is is about piano composition and performance without the expensive cost. I believe that these skills taught to competitive pianists are essential for sparking passion in music such as ear training, music theory, and sight reading, and I find it heartbreaking that these skills are only taught to those deemed "serious" enough to learn them. Best of all, I'm still a young undergraduate student, meaning that my competitive years are fresh behind me and my energy and enthusiasm for music has yet to die down!

Very qualified to teach, patient, and accommodating. While taking lessons, Richard finds ways to make the exercises a little more interesting and personalizes training to make it easier, and more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
