Fun piano lessons for kids with Carnegie Hall pianist and Education Director

Looking for a friendly, patient, experienced teacher to introduce your child to playing the piano? I will walk them through everything they need to begin, including piano technique, proper fingering, scales, triad chords, reading sheet music, and learning to play songs, in a way that is easy to understand and engaging. Once they have the basics down, they can pick the kinds of songs they want to play. Kids have enough tasks that feel like chores and making music should be a source of joy! My practice philosophy is that slow (but correct) is always better than fast (but inaccurate). Developing a strong work ethic takes time and practice, as well as a supportive village of adults. As a parent, I really appreciate the influence a compassionate and hard working teacher can have on my kids. I've taught music at many different schools and have an interdisciplinary, Liberal Arts education. I would be happy to share my love for the arts with your family!
