Learn the basics of music theory and piano (different styles & genres)!

Hi! I'm Ms. Rachel! Although I’m not currently very skilled with piano (yet), I’ve taken many college courses in piano and I’ve taught Beginning Music Theory & Piano to Voice & Piano students often throughout my 5 years of teaching music. My lesson plan for teaching beginning music theory is a book I’m writing, with resources I made and found, that covers the basics of music theory and piano up to the Circle of 5ths. For a Beginning Piano lesson, we can start from scratch (possibly even using the Music Prodigies bells I have) or I can give feedback and guidelines on your progress in your piano playing so far. My philosophy with teaching beginning piano is to teach a student the essentials before they decide to continue in piano with a professional piano player or not. Hi there! I’m Ms. Rachel! I have a BM in Music Education from CSULA, and I’m halfway through a Masters in Commercial Music from CSULA as well. I’ve been teaching voice and beginning piano since January 2017. I also teach basics of music theory, and upon request, songwriting and music technology too! I sing and teach musical theater, commercial music (pop, rock, country, jazz, R&B & blues), classical singing, opera and more. I value getting to know you and what you want to learn. I’m gentle and patient. I’ve worked with many kinds of students from cautious 4 year olds to shy middle schoolers to ambitious high schoolers to adults who have different aspirations to seniors who always wanted to learn music, etc.. Ms. Rachel is amazing. Our daughter has worked with her for several years, working on voice, song composition, and reading music. Ms Rachel is professional, kind, knowledgeable and patient.
