I love people of all ages. And I love helping them discover what beautiful things they can create in the world of music! Music is such a powerful way to express ourselves, and I love helping others learn how to do this and really enjoy it.
I have played piano since I was three. When I was able to read at age four, I began lessons, and the rest is history. I graduated from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music with a degree in Piano Performance and completed a Master's degree in Piano Performance at the University of Redlands. I love to perform, have written several songs, produced three CD's all with original music that I perform, and have just completed a fourth CD featuring major classical piano works arranged with favorite hymns. I have also written a musical and am in the process of having it produced.
I have sung in choirs of all types and accompanied them on the piano as well for many years. I have worked extensively in Musical Theater, serving both as Musical Director and Accompanist for shows such as Sound of Music, Annie, and many others.
I love seeing people get touched with music and love to help others create and perform music that really speaks to the heart. It's my passion. I teach all styles of music, and love teaching children, adults, and everything in between!
My goal for the students is for them to feel good about themselves as musicians and to be able to express themselves and reach the highest level of performance possible for them.
The students have the opportunity to perform regularly in recitals as well as other venues, and we have a lot of fun! Lessons are a great experience for us all.
*** Lesson Details ***
I use a standard curriculum for students that teaches the basic concepts of music and gives them creative pieces to use in the process. I expect my students to practice, and reward and encourage them to do so. I believe that positive affirmation is the best teaching tool, so I use that as my main basis for teaching, along with discipline and being challenged appropriately. I love helping people create, so my main goal for a piece is to help the student learn to perform it in the best way possible, with plenty of technique and lots of expression, to really make it their own so they and the audience can really enjoy it.
My students are usually ready to perform at least two or three major pieces of their level at the end of six months. I give them material to challenge them and encourage them to progress. Not too much, not too little! I teach self-confidence as one the biggest tools they can use to help themselves improve.
Come join us in our studio! We have a great time together discovering what we can create in the world of music.

I served as Musical Director and Accompanist for an outstanding production of Sound of Music. We had award-winning singers, and the show was a great success. It has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my theater career so far.

My kids are doing great in just 2 weeks
Priscilla was patient and understanding as I fumbled through my first lesson.
Great first impression! A teacher that cares enough to make sure the student understands the concepts, will enjoy piano & wants a three prong system to success that includes parent, teacher & student.
The first class went very smooth. .I can see Priscilla is very knowledgeable.
Priscilla is a very patient, motivating and kind teacher. I'm an adult student who had taken years of piano lessons in my youth. I already knew the basics but had picked up a lot of bad habits from not practicing correctly.
Priscilla helped me break some of those habits and helped me get to my next level of playing.
She believes in the importance of making whatever you're playing sound beautiful. This makes the lessons fun as you're working on making music instead of just practicing the same boring technical exercises over and over.
Besides being a great teacher, she's also very professional and kind. You can expect her to be very organized and always prepared to give a great lesson.
I am very proud of knowing Priscilla and introducing her to be my son and nephew’s piano teacher. She is a very professional, responsible and high-level teacher. She loves teaching and loves to pass her music passion to her students. What’s more, she is also a composer. I love her solo CDs which have become my home and car background music, in which people can feel the elements of calmness, happiness, purity, maturity, delight and gratefulness, all beautiful alive feelings from life. Being instructed by such a wonderful teacher with beautiful inner spirit, no wonder all her students play beautiful music+ Read More
Priscilla is nothing short of fantastic! I took lessons from her when she lived here in San Diego and enjoyed them so much I am now taking online lessons from her since she moved. She is profoundly knowledgeable, patient, dedicated and kind. Her teaching methods are clear and help to make learning the piano both interesting and fun. I am an adult student, but I also know that she is very skilled at teaching children of all ages.+ Read More
Priscilla is a great singing teacher!
I've been taking singing lessons from Priscilla for a year. Mostly Broadway, some blues, some classical. I've learned a lot from Priscilla! I enjoy singing a lot more now and my voice has gotten dramatically better in a year. Priscilla is a fun, very sweet, and she makes you work hard. When I started, I knew how to read music but I didn't have experience singing. She has been a great teacher at every step of the way, even as my skill level has changed dramatically.
Great Teacher :D
I cannot say enough about Priscilla.
I have a mental disability and she is incredibly patient and supportive. She has helped me work with it and provided support when I got frustrated and angry.
Supportive & Patient
When I acquired my mother's piano, I was excited and eager to play pieces that I once performed at competitions and at recitals. I was quickly disheartened as I tried re-teaching myself the pieces that I loved. I found a teacher on Craigslist who did not show up for my first lesson and called me 15 minutes late to tell me that she would not make it! I'm still annoyed thinking about it.Working with Priscilla has been the exact opposite experience. She listened to my life history, evaluated my skill level and gave me material to work on to re-introduce me to piano playing and to refine my technique. She also gave me physical exercises that would help me ease the tension that I have when I play the piano. I've never had this exercise before and it really eases my stress level. Priscilla also challenges me appropriately and is eager for me to succeed. I look forward to my lessons with her! Thank you, Priscilla!
