I recently relocated to Greensboro. For the last two decades, I have had the privilege of teaching piano at two of the largest and most successful community music schools in the Southeast: the Columbia Arts Academy, based in Columbia, SC, and the Jan Williams School of Music and Theatre, based in Brentwood, TN, just outside of Nashville. During my years as a piano teacher in community music schools, I have successfully instructed and interacted with a student population representing a vast range of ages, aptitudes, attitudes, races, ethnicities and countries of origin. My retention numbers have been excellent, and I have prepared hundreds of students for recitals. I have taught and performed extensively across the wide spectrum of music, including classical, jazz and popular music, with a particular expertise in jazz, blues and rock music.
