About PERRY S.

Hey Drummers, I'm a working drummer an percussionist in all major styles, from funk, blues, country, with a background in classical, a jazz degree from a noted William Paterson University.
I've been teaching drummers for over 20 years. Adding that, I've played internationally on tours for 4 years...
I'm just moved to CO. to raise my daughter and I take her to museums, nature, and the mountains as often as time allows.
And enjoy getting calls for frequent recording projects.
I love to find out what styles of music the student likes, and I help them get to play along with songs, by "following what I Do"- and I use individually-tailored instruction, and exercises to enhance the development of their limbs as quickly as possible... keeping it light and fun.

Didn't think online drum lessons would work, but they do and I am thrilled I found Perry as my teacher! His Drum Control book is the perfect guide and I am improving with every lesson. Thanks Perry!

Returning to drums after several years, I found that the "Drum Control" book Perry created and wrote really cleaned up my technique and got me going again with the essential tools I needed. I can't believe how easy it was with this great book. The combination of his teaching and book got me rockin' in no time! Perry is a real pro and knows what he's doing. I am learning from the best! Thanks Perry!

As a colleague of Perry, we often discussed the psychological aspects of programming the subconscious in order to bring the most out of ourselves and our students. Perry is a world class pro player, and his ability to articulate ideas is profound. Students could greatly benefit from studying under him.

I studied with Perry back in high school and cannot overstate the value of the information he taught me. If you are serious about getting it together, and learning those much needed skills to stand out from the vast drumming herd, start studying Perry today!

Perry is awesome and a great teacher. He gives me specific instruction for my style of learning. I had no drumming experience but LOVE the drums. He taught me the fundamentals and built on them. He is encouraging and inspiring. His knowledge and experience are incredible and he is just an all around great, nice and professional guy. I would recommend him for lessons for all - any age or level.

I took drum lessons from Perry in Phoenix 20 years ago. VERY patient and helpful teacher. You learn at your own pace but he also moves you on to what you can do. Excellent teaching skills. You won't regret taking lessons from him!

I have had the awesome opportunity to work with Perry on many occasions, both in the studio for my records, and live. I've seen his interactions with all kinds of people and he is one of the kindest, most patient, diplomatic, and talented drummers I've had the joy to work with. He's great on percussion and always has a super sunny outlook and a smile on his face. You can't go wrong hiring Perry!!

I had the pleasure of being one of Perry's first students back in the olden days.
I took 4-5 years of private lessons with Perry during my middle school and high school years. Perry opened my eyes to all genres of music and stressed the importance of being familiar with all styles. His instruction helped me land professional gigs in jazz, funk, blues, rock and world fusion. I will forever be in debt to Perry for his passion and knowledge of music he bestowed on me. Perry teaches from a different perspective and I always felt like he was a friend too. This review should have been written over 20 years ago, but you know.....Thanks Perry!

Perry is a talented drummer and teacher who's defiantly been around the block before. However this experience doesn't taint his ability to teach. He's always open to new things and new ways of explaining something. Perry's goofy personality keeps lessons lively and he always knows the best way to go about learning something. He doesn't push anything and doesn't gloat during lessons like a lot of teachers do. I've known Perry for almost 2 years and am still taking lessons from him. I highly recommend him as a friend and a teacher/drumming mentor.

To whom it may concern..
I am a professional drummer in LA and been playing and teaching here well over 20 years.
I know Perry since about 15 years and when he used to live in LA he was my number one substitute as a drum teacher as well as a performing drummer for countless gigs.
Some of my students still talk about Perry. He is well loved and taught my students very valuable lessons.I never had any bad reviews about Perry
His knowledge about all styles of music and drumming is astounding.
Any student should be very proud to have Perry as their teacher.
