Learn drumset or marching percussion from a certified music judge with Winterguard International!

I am a SAMMY award winning percussionist and author from Syracuse, NY. I'm currently a music judge for the NYSFBC and certified percussion judge with Winterguard International. I am a member of the New York State Federation of Contest Judges and have been actively teaching percussion for 30+ years. My competitive ensembles have all won multiple state championships and my percussion method book and instructional books are utilized by over 100 ensembles across 30 states plus the UK (including several colleges as well as DCA and DCI drum and bugle corps). I've also written a children's book and a young adult novel both centered around marching band. My percussion studio is called SyracuseDrums and is located in North Syracuse which utilizes two full drumsets as well as all marching percussion and concert percussion instrumentation. I teach all styles of drumset and specialize in rock and fusion. You can hear my work with the band Our 11th Hour on any music streaming platform. You can expect a high level of instruction from my drum lessons and we can focus on drumset, marching percussion, concert percussion, and even notation and composition! I also offer after-hours responses to any questions you may have while practicing or working on music. My lessons are fun and engaging and I have a very high success rate, as evidenced by my background, so you can be confident that your abilities will grow behind the drums while enjoying the instrument to the fullest!

We offer students and professionals opportunities to grow artistically and professionally. Students can learn have a music industry experience through the PAS Internship program or apply to receive a PAS scholarship or grant. Professionals can create new percussion programs or gain recognition through PAS grants and contests. Many individuals have significantly impacted the world of percussion through the Percussive Arts Society and they are recognized in our Hall of Fame and Awards pages.
