My burning desire to become a writer was nurtured in the tranquil environs of Guyana, South America. Growing up amid those lush tropical environs, as well as living along the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean, instilled in my consciousness a reverence for Nature, the value of contemplation, the power of thought and a unique sense of Self. Armed with those innate characteristics, and after my college education, including a Masters of Science in Environmental Science, I dedicated my energies to self-publishing WOW! Working On Wisdom: 100 Booster Shots For The Mind in 2004. WOW! is a simple and practical book which provides a powerful tool to allow the reader to think deeper, reach higher and acquire a greater state of awareness to cope with the negative effects of life circumstances. Subsequent to the publication of that book, I began serving as the Life Skills Instructor and Member of the Board of Directors at I CAN! Community Education Coalition, a non-profit Adult Literacy Intensive Learning Program located in Tampa, Florida. It was during my experiences as the Life Skills Instructor that I became concerned about the shortcomings of far too many students' coping skills. Encouraged by their strong adherence to my teachings, I was inspired to create the Universal Success Empowerment (USEE) Training Program. USEE is a comprehensive Personal Success and Self-management Program designed to transform lives by empowering participants to seek and reach their highest potential. It is adaptable to participants of varying professional backgrounds and levels of education because it provides practical self-management skills and techniques. The program went through many developmental stages, and beginning in 2007, it was piloted at the I CAN! Education Program For High School Age Youths. The success with that pilot venture further motivated me to make the class available to the general public. This has now culminated in the use of technology to facilitate a worldwide discussion-centered online training program. I am a graduate of Howard University with a B.S. in Geology and a graduate of Ohio University with a M.S. in Environmental Science. In addition to teaching Introductory Geology as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Ohio University, I have also taught a number of classes at Tampa Technical Institute (also called Remington College) including Environmental Science, Business Communication, Public Speaking, and Principles of Success.
