Welcome, my teaching philosophy is that a concrete musical foundation can be transferred across any musical genre. Having witnessed the misleading "strict classical" only foundation, I make sure all my students are introduced to composition, theory, jazz and world music within their first year. As a piano/vocal teacher I’ve been privately and publicly coaching for the past 8 years. I have a roster of students on the Upper East Side and have worked with studios such as Piano Power, Kidville and Acting Like a Kid, where I’ve privately taught over 25 students piano and voice. My approach encompasses combining technical exercises and stylistic technique alongside popular and standard repertoire of the student’s choosing. I’ve found that students respond well when techniques are realized through various musical genres. I’ve also worked in larger classroom settings where I’ve taught arrangements of contemporary music and accompanied for grades K3-8 (PS 183).
