    About Morgan E.

A native of Georgia, mezzo-soprano Morgan Earle is quickly making her mark as an exciting new voice. She was most recently seen as the Herdswoman in Janacek's Jenůfa (cond. David Neely; dir. Kristine McIntyre) with Des Moines Metro Opera’s 43rd festival season. She was a member of the Sarasota Opera Apprentice Artist Program 2014 - 2016, performing notable scenes from works such as Adriana Lecouvreur (Principessa), Cendrillon (Prince Charmant), Norma (Adalgisa), Falstaff (Quickly), Il trovatore (Azucena), Nabucco, (Fenena), and Die Walküre (Schwertleite). Ms. Earle was a young artist with Seagle Music Colony, where she sang the title role in L’Italiana in Algeri and Florence Pike in Albert Herring, among others. An advocate for new works, she debuted the role of Alycia Simpson in the workshop of Matthew Peterson's contemporary chamber opera Voir Dire (cond. Tyson Deaton) in collaboration with Fort Worth Opera. Other credits include Maurya (Riders to the Sea), Character 3 (Transformations), and La Tasse/L’Ecureuil (L'enfant et les sortilèges). Ms. Earle received degrees in Vocal Performance from LaGrange College (B.M. ‘11) and The Boston Conservatory (M.M. ‘13). *** Travel Equipment *** I expect students to provide: - a pencil (or three!) - a three-ring binder with notebook paper and staff paper - for voice students: a device that can record audio (smartphones are okay!) *** Specialties *** Voice - all classical styles including Classic Broadway, jazz, and opera; modern styles including Contemporary Broadway/pop/"belter" techniques. Common techniques used in all styles are: a good foundation in diction, tone production, breath support, physical relaxation, and mental focus. Piano - a thorough, customizable program for all ages, starting with a basic understanding of intervals, scales, (major and minor) proper hand technique, and prepared pieces. Acting - monologue readings, Movement for the Actor experiments, diction, vocal projection, and an education in the history of the theatre.
