Become a master at djembe and start crafting masterpieces with a professional musician

It was a privilege of mine to learn from a master drummer from Guinea, Mohammed Camara. My studies began through classes at Berklee College of Music, and extended in to his personal djembe group lessons where I was given the opportunity to learn soloing along with the rhythms. My lessons are focused on teaching the basics of creating, integrating and manipulating the basic three sounds of djembe music to give students a solid foundation to their future learning. It is a great joy of mine to also teach the rhythms of Kuku, Manjani and Sofa. We will use these rhythms to practice the techniques, but further study in to an intermediate level requires drumming in a group setting. It will be my honor to pass you along to a greater master of djembe drumming than I am, once you've mastered your foundation of technique ;) Please contact me with any questions.

    About Miss A.

{video note: there is no speaking on my videos to make them more palatable for my former students with Autism} Hello fellow students of the world! Learning is a lifelong journey, and I'm excited to help you along that path. My lessons are fun, relaxed, and open to a vast potential of learning. We will work on your goals, if you have them, as well as foundations of technique, musicality, and artistry. Along with my experience teaching private music lessons, I've also taught students with Autism for 13 years. This experience has helped me develop strong communication skills, especially with beginners. Developing a common language between teacher and student through flexible thinking is one of the most important aspects of my teaching system. This specialization with beginners is reflected in my individual subjects. For example, my guitar lessons are only for beginners and employs the Chord Buddy as a modification to support individuals with sensory issues that make typical guitar performance prohibitively difficult (such as Autism). More information on each instrument I teach, and my credentials for that instrument, can be found under each subject. Keep the Beat! Miss Aryiah
