Adaptive Guitar Lessons!

Using the Chord Buddy attachment and a full-size acoustic guitar, my lessons teach individuals with physical sensitivities in their fingertips how to play the guitar. The Chord Buddy takes away the painful period of desensitization that usually accompanies starting to play the guitar. It also simplifies the finger positions. Each chord is given a button that can be comfortably pressed down by one finger. With the four chords on the Chord Buddy, you can play a wide variety of songs. Additionally, I can modify specific songs for the Chord Buddy if you want to learn a favorite song.

I am not specifically connected with the company that makes Chord Buddy. As a special education teacher, I realized its potential for my students with Autism. One of my students even learned a Taylor Swift song!

Please contact me with any questions :)

About Miss A.

{video note: there is no speaking on my videos to make them more palatable for my former students with Autism}

Hello fellow students of the world!

Learning is a lifelong journey, and I'm excited to help you along that path.

My lessons are fun, relaxed, and open to a vast potential of learning. We will work on your goals, if you have them, as well as foundations of technique, musicality, and artistry.

Along with my experience teaching private music lessons, I've also taught students with Autism for 13 years. This experience has helped me develop strong communication skills, especially with beginners. Developing a common language between teacher and student through flexible thinking is one of the most important aspects of my teaching system. This specialization with beginners is reflected in my individual subjects.

For example, my guitar lessons are only for beginners and employs the Chord Buddy as a modification to support individuals with sensory issues that make typical guitar performance prohibitively difficult (such as Autism).

More information on each instrument I teach, and my credentials for that instrument, can be found under each subject.

Keep the Beat!

Miss Aryiah
