Learn who to write music & lyrics with a teacher 15+ years songwriting experience

Are you interested in learning how to write a song? Do you play an instrument or sing and want to take that next step of songwriting seriously? I've been writing songs for as long as I've been around music, and whether they were good or bad, I never stopped writing. Songwriting for me is as therapeutic as journaling, and over the last 10 years I've taught myself how to craft a song out of my own life experience. So far I've released 2 full-length albums that I've written myself; about my life. (Side-note: you don't have to be a musician to write a song, but it is helpful to know an instrument.) In our lessons we will start where you are at, whether you're a beginner to writing or have had plenty of experience, I can help you find your voice and write that song you've always dreamt of. In our lesson plan we can also eventually record your song so you can have a professional recording of your own music (whether I play in the recording or you is your choice!) Want to learn how to play or sing your favorite song? Are you interested in learning how to write your own songs? Since the start of my teaching my lessons have expanded to include guitar, ukulele, singing, and even songwriting! I'm eager to help you find exactly what you want to learn while finding your own voice along the way. Besides teaching I have 10+ years experience as a professional musician, so learning instrument's or composing my own songs to be able to play for others is a passion of mine! Everything from beginner to performer, I will show you what I know about how to play an instrument, sing, and crafting your own songwriting skills. My lessons are modeled to be more hands-on, letting the student decide their curriculum and direction of learning. In 2016 I took my first teaching opportunity at KC Music in Parkville, MO teaching a band of 5 through a program called “ROCK-U” how to play classic rock with a performance every 4 quarters. I also worked with a few beginner vocal students through performances with ROCK-U. Over the years I helped establish and host recitals for every student that took lessons at the store. By the end of my time with KC Music, I was the most highly-requested teacher on staff and had a full schedule with 30+ students. In February of 2019, I left KC Music and started implementing my own strategies for private lessons.
