    About Michael S.

I am a professional musician and certified music teacher with over 14 years teaching and over 23 years of performance experience. I hold a bachelors in music with a concentration of education/tuba from Montclair State University. I have taught instrumental/general classroom music to students from K-12 with a wide range of learning styles. Likewise, I have taught private students for 20 years ranging in age from 5 years to 80 years in woodwind brass and percussion instruments. My students can expect to be challenged each week on the fundamentals of the instrument while learning how to think critically about all aspects of their instrument. I believe in teaching students to have fun learning as well as enjoy building their confidence in playing.
