Wonderful instructor! She is so talented, professional! She really has help our Special Needs Son to really shine. So positive and patient. I wish we could keep her for ever.....the very best...!!!!

This was my daughter's first singing lesson. Melody was very accommodating with my wife and I observing our daughter. With a musical background myself, I immediately knew that Melody had immense knowledge not only about singing, but also the theory and technique that all singers should learn.

My daughter is now 16 years old and has been under Ms. Melody's tutelage for a year now. There are good times and bad, and I am thankful that Ms. Melody did not give up. My daughter will encounter lots of hardships throughout her life, and as a mother, I cannot do all the teachings myself. It is always good to know when you have a caring teacher whom you can trust and know what they are doing both in music and life. I like that Ms. Melody can be lenient, and firm when needed. My daughter has joined her recitals, music playdates, and couldn't be happier. I can't recommend Ms. Melody high enough.

My daughters, 8 and 6, took lessons as beginners from Melody for 10 months before we had to move. SHE IS AMAZING! Not only did she make the lessons fun and engaging, but they learned so much in that short time. I grew up playing piano, violin and French horn and I was very impressed with her approach/methodology and how much of herself she put into her teaching. For the last 3 months we were with Melody, the girls also took voice lessons. The highlight of our spring was watching the girls perform at the recital Melody had so painstakingly organized. It was astounding how much they had progressed musically and my husband and I were in awe at how well they performed in front of people. We were also impressed at the wide range of experience in the students Melody taught. Some had played for years and were clearly continuing to blossom under Melody's tutelage, while others were beginners like our daughters. Melody was always positive, encouraging and extremely patient (even when my six year old had clearly not practiced for a week straight or was tired and whiny). My daughters and I miss her dearly as our mentor and now our friend! We cannot recommend her highly enough.

Two of my girls had the great opportunity to begin piano lessons with Ms. Melody. It was just three months but my girls were able to join the Christmas recital which they enjoyed so much! It was unfortunate that we have to move overseas. We highly recommend Ms. Melody. She is a very good teacher.

My son was 6 years old when he started piano lessons with Ms. Melody and he always looked forward to the weekly lessons. For a short period of time, he learned how to read music notes and play songs beautifully. Sadly Ms, Melody has to move. She is fun, engaging, and firm in her teaching. We really appreciate her.

I wish we could bring Ms. Melody wherever our work assignment brings us. It is very hard to find a teacher who is as skillful, engaged, energetic and passionate as Ms. Melody. She is one of a kind. I would highly recommend her to everyone.

She was very patient and loving toward our very energetic kids. I would recommend her.

Melody is a wonderful piano teacher. She taught my daughter for 2 months before she moved. My daughter learned several pieces of music which she performed at the recital. It was her first recital and she was nervous but Melody encouraged her and gave her the confidence to perform!

I highly recommend Miss Melody as a piano and voice teacher for young children. She is very well respected. Her passion in teaching music is shown through her enthusiasm and patient approach. She has developed a program and teaching techniques that are always age and skill level appropriate. She encourages her students throughout the lesson, providing just the right amount of urging to keep trying and not give up. Her goal is to let the student enjoy and appreciate the art of playing and singing. My daughter has taken both the piano and voice lessons for 2 years and our family has joined 3 music recitals, all professionally done and very well prepared. As she moves to DC, it is my great pleasure to recommend Miss Melody and I am so happy to tell you what a wonderful, caring and talented teacher she is that you won't be disappointed. Your children will look forward to their time with her. You sure will be learning from one of the best!

I enrolled my 8 year old grand daughter and 10 year old grandson for piano and singing during their family visit with us, which lasted two weeks. Each of them had eight lessons in total and for that span of time they have learned how to read notes and count patiently. They also learned to play other instruments such as maracas, chimes, etc. It was so nice of Ms Melody to be able to conduct a studio mini recital just for the two of them. It is really amazing how my grandkids has learned so much from her. When I found out she is moving, I knew it will be hard to find somebody like her who is not just a very good teacher, but you can tell that she loves the kids and teaching comes very easy for her. Thank you Ms Melody for your good heart. As other reviewer said she will be missed, surely she will. I remember my grand daughter’s exact words when we left after their last lesson, ”Ms Melody is really very nice grandma. I like her so much!”

Ms Melody is a great teacher. Her teaching method has helped and guided my 13 year old daughter to read music confidently. She has a unique way of strengthening the musical foundation in such a way that the student will keep engaged and focused. When my daughter joined the recital for the first time, it has exceeded our expectation. It was done professionally. The duet pieces are outstanding. We are sad that she has to move. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a music teacher in DC.

Melody has been an outstanding teacher to my daughter. She really know how to make things fun and exciting. She will be missed.

Melody has done a wonderful job teaching my daughter who so confidently played 3 pieces and 1 duet piece with her. The recital was very organized and professionally done. I am continually impressed with her love, patience and dedication to her students. I would definitely refer her to anyone looking for a piano teacher.

Ms Melody is a great teacher. My five year old son enjoys his lesson and looks forward to coming weekly, not to mention the monthly play date Ms Melody offers to all her students which is really fun and helpful. From knowing nothing about piano to being confident at a recital in just five months is outstanding. Ms Melody is nice, patient, and has true love for her students.

My daughter had a great first class. Ms. Melody was kind and encouraging and I cant wait to see what my daughter will learn from her.

Melody was very kind and helped my daughter a lot. She made her feel comfortable and was very encouraging.

melody seems like a wonderful, take charge, hands on, teacher - I am very pleased to have met her and I believe my daughter will learn a lot from her and they will prove to be great working together .. and were excited

I'm Happy that I finally find a perfect piano teacher for my daughter. I highly recommended her 😊

My daughter's take piano lessons with Melody and it amazes me how much they have learned and are able to play in such a short amount of time. They greatly enjoy attending class each week and look forward to continue learning new things.

Mrs. Melody has been very wonderful in meeting our needs for piano lessons as a family. She works well with my 3, 6 and 9 year old children. She makes piano fun while still encouraging confidence, discipline, a sense responsibility and attention to detail during piano lessons.

My daughter loves piano and singing lessons she has learned so much in such a short time.

I am an adult and took piano lessons from Melody. I was very pleased with the experience and felt that the instruction was great. She was very patient which was helpful because I would feel nervous playing sometimes. Lessons started on time which was helpful given my busy schedule. Overall very enjoyable.

My son was 5 years old when he began piano lessons with Ms. Melody. Each week, he was eager to go to the lessons and always had big smile on his face after the lessons. Through the lessons, he learned how to read music notes and play songs beautifully at recitals. Ms. Melody is fun and firm in teaching. She’s the perfect teacher to unlock a child’s potential. We really appreciate Ms. Melody for opening music to our son and our family.

Ms. Melody was my son's first piano teacher. She was excellent at establishing the foundations to make him enjoy the lessons and want to learn more. Based on his baseline understanding, he continues to grow and enjoy music. Thank you to Ms. Melody for her experience and patience.

Ms. Melody was always very patient with me. She learned the way I played and accommodated to help me improve personally. During the two years that she was my piano teacher, my skills greatly improved. Playing the piano became more simple and music often came naturally. She is incredibly skilled and caring towards all her students, and I was lucky enough to be one of them. I was very sad when I found out she was moving out of my state and would no longer be my piano teacher. Ms. Melody is an amazing woman and her new students will be excited to learn to play the piano.

Ms Melody is a professional piano teacher with great dedication and ability to work with children. In 2016, Ms Melody taught my then, 6 year old son. It was his first attempt at playing piano and Ms Melody was patient and at the same time held him accountable for practicing at home. My son played four pieces at the Spring recital. He felt accomplished and proud. It was under Ms Melody guidance that he developed love for playing piano.
Ms Melody Spring Recital was so professionally done. She takes her job very seriously and as a mom, I appreciate her effort and energy in teaching my son.
Thank you Ms Melody!

Melody is an inspiring piano teacher. She wasn't only complete the lesson, she makes sure my daughter understood the theory and played correctly.
She adjusted the lesson plan according to the kid's needs. My daughter loves the tools and tricks, she brought in, to help remembering notes.
She really takes pride in teaching music, it shows in the recitals of all her students.

I had the good fortune of sending my younger daughter to Ms.Melody for piano lessons.
I don't know where to begin, since she has many qualities!
From a knowledge perspective, she is very technical, articulate and knows her stuff. She has certificates from both ABRSM and Trinity and so is well versed
with the technicalities and syllabi of those exam boards. She is not only a pianist but plays the guitar and is a voice coach.
But where she distinguishes herself is when she is engaged in teaching the children.
She is a good instructor and has the ability to change, adapt and customize lessons to each children's needs. She is friendly, but firm when needed and the kids love her. Her pleasant, friendly demeanor and easily approachable nature endears her to children and adult like. She inspires and instills confidence in children, so music lessons with Ms.Melody are never boring or tiresome for children.
We were sorry to see her move to Michigan but Virginia's loss is Michigan's gain!

Melody is a wonderful teacher and not only has the patience to teach little ones but also has the right approach to get them interested in music. My daughter always looked forward to the weekly lessons and we were sad when she moved. We know that she'll continue to bring other families lots of joy and musical success! You won't be disappointed with Melody!

Melody was my daughter's (age 5) first piano teacher. She was kind and patient with her. She also supplied great materials to enhance her learning. We were so sad to see her move away. Any student would be lucky to have her as a teacher!

My daughter had the privilege of taking piano lessons with Ms. Melody for about a year and a half. Melody was patient and kind and made my daughter's first experience with music lessons enjoyable and productive. We were sad when Melody moved away, but our loss is your gain! Trust me, this is the teacher you have been looking for.
