Piano with Matt G.

I started classical piano lessons at the age of three, and have continued to play music ever since! In high school I became more interested in rock and jazz, playing in all the jazz bands and forming an original rock band, playing shows, and recording two albums as bassist and singer. After high school I attended Portland State University where I earned a Bachelor's of music in Piano Performance, focusing on 19th century romantic music. While there I won the OMTA State Young Artist Award, placed in their concerto competition, accompanied a wide range of other artists on all types of instruments, participated in multiple ensembles, and began teaching lessons. Following Undergrad, I became highly involved in Portland's musical theather community as a musician and musical director, and expanded my accompanying reputation, as well as building a full studio of students. I then moved to Boston for further experience where I was part of a very successful top 40 dance and rock cover band, playing over 100 shows a year. Finally coming to LA to expand my original projects, I am a full time musician in one of the centers of the arts. I am excited to get back to sharing all of my experience with my students, and can't wait to hear from you!
