2000

Born and raised in England into an artistic and musical environment, Mark won a place in the Christ Church Cathedral choir at 7 with his cello playing and voice. During the 5 years at Oxford, Mark sang in concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, Festival Hall, St. John's Smith Square, performed for radio and television broadcasts and sang on many recording sessions the work of Bach, Handel, Purcell and many others from the English choral tradition.

Mark has composed music for several commercially released films, noted for his work in the immersive environment of the full dome planetarium, some of those titles play across the world, from Japan to Europe, in well over 100 theaters.

In 2009, Mark was selected to compose special music for the International Year of Astronomy and an extravagant documentary production that aired on PBS as a science special for several years on the 400 year history of telescopic astronomy since 1609. The planetarium film covering the same story became the most played across 1500 theaters worldwide for 3 years in a row and can still be seen in many planetariums.

Mark began teaching piano and music theory in 1998, eventually building a large roster of pupils in his home area in Surrey, England.

In 2009 though, he moved to Los Angeles for film scoring work reasons.

Mark also teaches English as a second language.

He has a degree in Law and completed a year of Engineering studies at Southampton University at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research. Mark completed a Master's degree in Music at the London College of Music on the campus of the Ealing Film Studios.

Mark possesses that rare combination not only of being entirely on top of his subject but of also of being able to communicate clearly and to inspire pupils at all levels.
