Violin with Marina M.

I started playing violin when I was 5. I am originally from Puerto Rico and I moved to the United States with the purpose of preparing for my violin college auditions. I got accepted into Peabody conservatory, Cincinnati conservatory and Temple university. I decided to study at Temple but later transferred to a Conservatory where they offered me a full scholarship ( I decided not to mention the name of the institution for security purposes). I also play viola and I’m in love with its sound and amazing possibilities. It is definitely an undermined instrument but if you know how to get the most out of it, the possibilities are infinite. As a professional musician I have played with different orchestras around Philadelphia, Puerto Rico and NY. But when I was in high school I was concertmaster of my high school orchestra. With such orchestra I played in Carnegie Hall as part of an orchestral competition. We won gold medal. That has definitely been one of the greatest experiences as a musician. Like I already mentioned I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I was a child actress but I’ve been always more inclined to music. I got back to acting about two years ago and I love it. Once I graduate from my music performance degree I will definitely start acting more often. Feel free to reach out and ask me about my teaching style and experience as a musician.
