Violin lessons for children in Greenville, SC with an enthusiastic professional

I'm a great teacher for young children! I've played the violin for over 10 years and have taught professionally at a music school back home in NY. I've worked a ton with kids, from being a pre-school aid to baby-sitting special needs kids, so I am very good at keeping lessons fun and interactive. Even though I don't play professionally now, growing up with music and having orchestra class be a safe space to express myself was so impactful in shaping the adult I have become. The violin is an amazing instrument to learn and I hope I can spark enthusiasm in your child and inspire them to stay with it as they grow.

Hi! I'm Marina and I look forward to possibly working with you! I have been playing the violin since I was in third grade and took private lessons through middle school. Starting when I was 15, I began teaching private lessons to local elementary schoolers in my area and went on to teach privately at a music school over the summers. I've taught kids just starting out on both piano and violin and have a lot of experience in teaching how to read and interpret music. I am definitely not a professional violinist playing in orchestras currently! But I always believed that learning the violin and practicing every day for years was an instrumental part (no pun intended) in shaping my career, both academically and professionally. An instrument is such an important character builder. Life lessons from learning how to work at something you're passionate about, to patience and self-acceptance when you can't play something the first time you try, even to teamwork and learning to be a part of something bigger (an orchestra). These are all skills I learned from growing up with the violin and my goal is to ensure your child learns them too.
