Viola with Marie D.

I am a professional violist, currently freelancing in New York and Hamburg. I graduated from The Juilliard School with a Bachelor of Music 2013 and a Master of Music 2015 degree. Teaching has always been a necessary part of my musician life. I teach violin and viola students of all different ages and experience levels. For many years I have been uploading performance videos and later began “Viola Tips from Violamad” videos which helped my following grow. Through that exposure I began offering private lessons via video calling and have found online lessons to be effective and convenient for many students. I teach with patience and gentle encouragement, while maintaining high expectations for my students. Every student has the potential to be able to express themselves through an instrument. Through regular technique exercises and studies, I can help students play with joy and confidence. My career has taken me to places all over the world, yet I still strive to play better myself every day and I hope that this drive with further inspire my students!
