Clarinet with Mariah N.

I have played clarinet since the age of 10. I still remember the day I went to the music store and picked out the instrument that I would put my blood, sweat, and tears in for the next 10 years. The experience was very similar to the wand selection process in Harry Potter and magical in it's own way. The shop keeper came out with each instrument one by one - flute, baritone, saxophone, and then clarinet- and played a funny tune on each. I chose the clarinet. I still have that same clarinet, though beat up and run down from years of marching band practice. I still love it and remember fondly the magic I made with it. I hope to impart some of that magic onto my students. I have been a member of the Kiltie Marching Band at Riverview High School and the Gator Marching Band at the University of Florida. I have studied under Anne Swain. My most exciting performances include marching in the St. Patrick's day parade in Dublin, Ireland and performing at various events at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. I am a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. I have 3 years of experience working with children ages 2-18 with developmental disabilities. I am a holder of a medicaid provider number meaning I have undergone a level 2 background check with fingerprinting in order to obtain it.
