I hold my bachelor's and master's degree in a piano performance at California State University, Northridge. Teaching has been my main career over a decade, and I can say that I am an expert to help students achieve their goal and have fun at the same time. I enjoy working with children as well as adult students who want to get back on track learning piano.
My lessons are well-structured and I try to cover theory, ear-training, sight-reading, technique and learning repertories. I'm an active member of MTAC, and love to work with music enthusiast who are trying move forward in the annual level test that are annually offered by MTAC.
My sister (12 yr ) and I (15 yr) just had a class with Maiko yesterday and it went great! I loved her enthusiasm on teaching and her professionalism on music that was demonstrated thoroughly throughout the lessons. We can't wait to meet her next week for class!+ Read More
As a piano teacher myself, I was somewhat selective finding a right piano instructor for my daughter who is 4 1/2-year-old.
Maiko is very patient, yet strict and fun (these are hard balances to have) She undrstands exactly what my daughter's struggling about in my little one's point of view.
I can't wait to see my daughter grows enjoying playing the piano and couldn't be happier to have Ms.Yamamagi as an instructor to nurture my daughter musically for many more years!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone!
