Over my seven years teaching I have developed a style of teaching that puts the student first. I'm a life-long musician and have studied violin with many different teachers so I know the importance of finding a teacher that suits your personality and learning needs. I want music to be a tool and a gift that you can use in your life as a means of expression, escape, or whatever you want it to be. I work with the Suzuki books primarily but use supplementals in order for a well-rounded curriculum in theory and musicianship. Though my lessons are classically focused, I am always open to working on songs that you are passionate about, whatever style they may be. I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your musical journey!

About MaCall P.

I am a professional violinist with experience playing in orchestras, chamber groups, bands and church groups. I graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor's degree in violin performance in 2016. More recently I received a Master's degree in Ethnomusicology (the study of music and culture) from Goldsmiths, University of London. Since moving back to the States I have been focusing on my teaching career and playing in a band called Songbird where I switch between violin, guitar, and vocals.

I started teaching during my undergrad to support myself through college but I quickly became passionate about serving my students. I taught at many music studios in Orange County and quickly saw a need for music teachers to be more educated about creating safe spaces for students that experience various forms of social inequality. I focused my Graduate research on gender inequality in the music industry, working with non-profits who create equality focused spaces in music education. It is my priority to continue this work in my own private teaching so that all of my students have an environment that is safe and encouraging to learn in.
