Lydia Byard has over 14 years of teaching experience, and has earned titles, including: U.S. National Scottish fiddle Champion, Grandfather Mountain Fiddling Champion, and first place winner of the Ohion Scottish Games. Her first solo album entitled, "A Peculiar Sense of Humor" was released in 2011. Lydia hold a Masters of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Louisville, and a Bachelors of Music in Violin performance from Balwin Wallace University.

Lydia is a passionate music educator. She has been a guest teacher and lecturer at clinics, festivals, and universities across the states and overseas, and has maintained a private studio of violinists, violists, and fiddlers since 2004. She believes in teaching a love of music, and working with students to meet goals that inspire them. All ages are welcome!
