Discover Your Authentic Voice: Improve Range, Stamina, & Confidence with an Experienced Guide
I firmly believe that every student is her own teacher: When you work with me, I'll come alongside you to support and guide you in your vocal goals. Whether your goal is to sing a particular song, increase your vocal flexibility, gain confidence as a performer, or even to learn to carry a tune in a bucket, I can provide you with proven tactics to become the musician you want to be.
Lessons with me are informed by my own experience as an operatic countertenor and musical theatre performer, my education at The New England Conservatory of Music (MM Performance, concentration in Pedagogy), my knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of singing, my studies in motor learning theory, five years of hands-on experience at various community music schools, and my continued commitment to professional development. You can count on me to keep learning with you–neither of us get to sit on our laurels!
By the end of our first lesson, we will have identified:
*The things you already excel at (believe me, you excel at something),
*The things you want to improve on, and,
*A CLEAR PLAN on what we need to do to move you forward.
My aim is to get you to notice results on day one: If I can guide you one time to the experience of acing the high note, nailing the run, or finishing the tricky phrase, then we can repeat the process that led to that experience. The real magic happens when you take that process to the practice room and give it as many repetitions as possible!

About Lucas C.
Hi, I'm Lucas.
I'm a professional singer, composer, and teacher based in the Boston area. I earned my MM in Vocal Performance (concentration pedagogy) from The New England Conservatory of Music and my BM from Stetson University. I've been singing as long as I can remember, and expect to be singing for as long as I'm around.
Most recently, I was a Resident Artist with Boston's Promenade Opera Project, where I created the roles of Ida/Woodpecker in Gala Flagello's "Reap What You Soul" and Ivan Prisypkin in Byron Asher's "The Bedbug." I'm passionate about performing new operatic music, especially music that speaks to the issues we face in the world we share today. In addition, I write my own "classical" music, as well as and songs that fall in the space between indie, singer-songwriter, and musical theatre genres.
In every one of my musical, creative, and career endeavors, I prize authenticity above all else. I believe we are all at our best when we are at our most honest–that’s why it’s my mission in life to use my voice to tell the truth. I'm here to help you sing authentically in both technique and expression. From a technical standpoint, an authentic voice will be free of excessive and unintentional tension and constriction, able to produce pitches across a wide range, and feel effortless to produce. From an expressive standpoint, an authentic voice will have something unique and powerful to say, communicating its experience with confidence.
