Music is my passion and I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals. Learn violin in a fun, relaxing environment. Lessons are tailored to fit your musical preferences and needs. Students will learn proper technique, tone production, intonation, and music theory while playing the music they love! My goal is to give you the tools and skills to play whatever music you desire. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Message me today!

I received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance summa cum laude from the University of Alabama where I performed in orchestras, chamber groups, and taught violin. Afterwards I attended the University of South Carolina for my Master’s where I specialized in group instruction and private lessons, teaching all of the stringed instruments to students ranging from 6 to 60+.

I’ve also been a member of several orchestras including the Huxford Symphony Orchestra, the USC Symphony Orchestra, Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, Meridian Symphony Orchestra, and the Shoals Symphony Orchestra and attended music festivals across the country including the Castleman Quartet Program, Madeline Island Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and Kinhaven Music Festival.

In addition to music, I love home-roasted coffee, quilting, writing, flying, and anything with wings—that includes birds, chickens, and airplanes!

Violin · In studio

My daughter and I have been taking lessons from Lora for a little over one year, now. We couldn't be happier. Lora's shown remarkable professionalism and flexibility. It's clear that she is genuinely interested in helping us to achieve our personal goals with the violin. She's willing to incorporate songs that we would like to learn and--at the same time--she is committed to ensuring that we're always progressing in our technique, skill-level, and knowledge. We're super happy to have found her and plan to continue our lessons with her as long as we are able!

I've had such a great experience learning from Lora. I'm so glad I found her as a teacher, and its even better that I can take lessons online. I've tried taking lessons with other teachers in person over the past ten years, but I work full-time so it was always a challenge. Lora has made learning fun again and not stressful. She is flexible and works with my schedule. I've learned so much already and am looking forward to learning more!
