Hi! I'm, Leonardo A. Becton and I go by Mr. B! I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Taught in the St. Louis Public School District. Started playing the saxophone at Ford Middle School in 1985. Graduated from Soldan High School where I continued to play saxophone, also learning piano and clarinet. I graduated from Mississippi Valley State University in 1996 with a B.A. in Music Performance. I have had the opportunity to perform with many artists such as Hamiet Bluiett (of the World Saxophone Quartet) and Dorothy Donegan. I have performed for the Tony award winning actor Ben Vereen and Debbie Turner (Miss America 1990, motivational speaker). In college, I performed as one of the opening acts for Bobby Jones and New Life. As a high school senior he had the thrill of a lifetime by participating in a music workshop with Pulitzer Prize winner Wynton Marsalis. I am excited to be a part of Take Lessons! Music is just like life. You will have ups and downs. There were times when I first started playing that I wanted to quit. Then also, there were times I felt like I was on top of the world! When you chose me as your music teacher, you get someone who will get you thru those times. Its hard work, but it’s fun!
