I am a professional orchestra member of two orchestras and have a Master's degree in music. Although I am a professional performing musician, I have a deep passion for teaching! I have been teaching lessons on multiple instruments for over 5 years and have been thrilled to have students that have been successful after their studies. Whether you want to start new on an instrument, or continue your studies with me, I aim to provide a positive environment where you can see improvement over time. I teach all ages and have varying approaches for different age and proficiency levels. For elementary age students, we will learn the basics of notes, scales, and technique while learning how to stay focused on accomplishing a complex task. For middle school students, I cover more in depth musical concepts that supplement what they are learning in band and or orchestra. We will start looking into auditioning for All-state, summer festivals, or solo competitions. For high school students, we will cover all concepts that will be needed to succeed in band or orchestra. For those interested in pursuing music to any extent in college, we will prepare the audition materials and I will assist you to get your music in great shape. For adult students, we will start at wherever your skill level is and go from there mastering the foundations of music to get your playing to the next level.
