Hi there ! 

My name is Laurent. 

Passionate about music, I hold a Master in Jazz studies in Saxophone from the Music Conservatory of Brussels. I also became a certified teacher (after followed a one year-long pedagogical training) at the same University. 

I am an active musician in various bands, and perform regularly in Europe and North America.

My lessons are structured yet extremely personalized. 

I will adapt to whatever YOU want to learn, while giving weight to basic concepts: the sound, intonation, groove, harmony, … until you’ll reach independence and have the confidence needed to learn by yourself. 

In order to give long-distance support and thanks to the recent technological development, I give most of my classes by Skype. 

I believe that regularity is a key to success in learning a musical instrument, and I found the extra-flexibility of the online classes very profitable for that purpose. 
Being able to send the pedagogical material used directly by e-mail is very valuable and handy too!

I've been passionate about music since I was 9, and decided to devote my life to it ever since. 

After years of study in some of the best Music conservatories in Europe and many amazing music experiences, I'm ready to give back and guide you in your Saxophone journey! 

I've been performing all over Europe in Jazz groups, and recently I've also been playing on cruise ships all over the world !

Learning and teaching music is one of the most difficult situations, when it has to do with pedagogy and tuition. Truth is that Laurent Barbier, handles easily performing and teaching. I am extremely satisfied from his teaching, via Skype sessions, and i think his a quintessential teacher for my needs and suits very much to my character and mood. He's so patient to check a student's needs, and he's always willing to pass knowledge with generosity! He's guidance and my practicing of course, made a better player!
