My degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with TESOL and ELL endorsements from the University of Central Florida, as well as an Associates of Arts in Music Education from the College of Central Florida. I studied under the tutelage of Rosa Harrison- Acompora, Carol McCoy, and William Lewis. By age 3 I was singing, and began learning the violin at the age of 5. I have been a member and guest of several orchestras, and choirs; these include The Ocala Youth Symphony, The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra, the Marion Civic Choral and Stetson University String Ensemble and Choir. I was a fortunate to be a special guest of The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra featuring Violinist Joshua Bell. In February 2013 I fulfilled a lifelong dream and soloed at Carnegie Hall. I especially enjoy performing for special occasions and of course, TEACHING! I began teaching in 2008, and have had much experience with all learning types and ages. I began teaching private lessons prior to college, and have continued ever since. I spent 5 valuable years at FBC Ocala's School of Music teaching Violin, Voice, and Piano to students 4 ½ to senior adults. I also spent time in the public school system, assisting with the Howard Middle School Choir and FBC Dunnellon's Orchestra. As a teacher, my goal is to instill an ongoing thirst for knowledge and inspire learning. Music Education provides necessary life skills such as self-discipline, self-expression, responsibility, patience, and teamwork. I always strive to this end as well as teaching independent critical listening and thinking skills. My approach to student assessment reflects my goals. While my standards are high, I help students meet expectations by reviewing and supplementing materials, techniques, etc., wherever needed. An effective music educator is enthusiastic and passionate about music and working with students of all abilities. I believe in a flexible manner of instruction. I am aware of students’ different experiences and temperaments, and believe that every student, regardless of background, can improve his or her ability to listen to, understand, and perform a piece of music. Lastly, I believe the most rewarding profession is making a difference in an individual’s life through music.

Ms. Lauren was my first ever violin teacher and I was very nervous starting too. She taught me so well, customized my pacing based on my schedule and even explained some techniques with metaphors that I would understand. I really felt special being her student and I think every student feels that way because Ms. Lauren is so genuine, focuses on her students' pace, needs, and understanding. Shes an incredible teacher for all levels due to the personal and irreplaceable connection she makes with her students.

Lauren was my first voice teacher and she has established habits and a standard of excellence in my musical studies that I will always be thankful for. The difference between my voice at the beginning and the end of our time together thanks to her kind and persistent instruction is astounding. She went out of her way to help me several times, including accompanying me at competitions and encouraging me when I had doubts in my ability. Lauren has my high recommendation.

As a mature adult, I decided to take voice lessons from Lauren. I found her to be knowledgeable, patient and understandable. I learned valuable lessons from her.
