Explore the endless colors of classical organ through historical and contemporary world music

Lessons in the performing arts are a journey of awareness. The studio is a place where you come to discover how music fits into your self and your life. I spent seven graduate years in Paris performing, teaching, and researching. I currently spend my time finding and learning repertoire by composers from around the world, every gender expression, and all philosophical traditions. I am currently taking students only on a weekly basis. Organ students need regular access to an instrument with full pedalboard to practice on and should already be familiar with music notation.

    About Laura P.

Music is personal and brings us into contact with ourselves, with other people, and with something beyond us. I am passionate about this awareness that results from the study of performing arts. Bring your own repertoire ideas, or ask for some! I have worked with ages 3 to 75, with kids, youth, and adults with ADD, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, cerebral palsy, selective mutism, substance abuse challenges, and those recovering from strokes. I have worked with professional teachers, mediators, and bank managers, as well as with college-degree-seeking music students, middle- and high-schoolers, and gifted children. Right now I am only able to accept students on a weekly lesson schedule.

I am an adult learner who spent many years dreaming of taking piano lessons, but finally decided to bite the bullet earlier this year & it was the best decision I could have made. As someone who struggles with severe anxiety, I was nervous about being able to find an instructor who felt like a safe place, but Laura has truly exceeded all of my expectations & lessons with her have quickly become my favorite part of the week. She is incredibly patient with the many questions I come in with each lesson & her love for the instrument/music reverberates throughout our sessions & makes me even more excited to learn. I could rant and rave all day - Laura is the best!!!

Laura is a very kind and patient teacher. She is full of praise and helps to motivate me to do my best. She puts good bit of thought and work into her lessons/students and is able to generate lessons that are appropriate for the skill level of the student.

Laura is REALLY great. Listens to my needs, is very patient and knowledgeable. I'm normally one who likes to learn on my own but am finding out that with the Piano a real instructor has a lot to offer that an online resource just can't provide.
