Over the past decades of making music, I've seen it from all angles. I've toured in bands, gigged the locals scenes, taught, made music as a recording engineer / producer and as a live engineer at mid-sized clubs. After living in Europe for two years as a house recording engineer at a major studio in Prague, CZ, I've returned home to Seattle while keeping my connections strong in Europe - I went back last summer to make two records there! I believe in the power of study. It makes everything so much more fun. There was once a day when I struggled to figure out chord changes quickly and had to prep so hard for rehearsal. The more I studied, the easier everything become. Learning your foundation is everything. I find patience is number one in both teaching and learning. It is ok that's hard. It will get easier, we will find those breakthrough moments. I've found myself leaning in indie, rock, funk, soul, and blues. I have an appreciation for jazz and can teach you the basics. I love sitting down with an acoustic as fingerpicking is so much fun, but do send more time on electric guitar - how I love dialing electric sounds. As an engineer, I've had the fantastic experience of being in the room with Jack Endino, who recorded the early Nirvana and Soundgarden records. Plus with Randall Dunn, known for producing Johann Johannsson, Sunn o)), Algiers records, and many more. I've been taught that the computer is great, but it's musicians that make the music and it's the songwriters that provide the framework for us to have our fun. I have an amazing overdub / mix studio work out of in Seattle, with access to several of the top studios in town.

Larson is patient, easygoing, and extremely knowledgeable—an outstanding teacher overall! I'm 28 and have never played an instrument before, so I would wholeheartedly recommend him for students of any age and experience level. Five stars!
