Lana has proven to be a wonderful teacher over the past couple of months since I have been using her. I have a demanding sales job in Florida that requires me to travel by car all of the time. Basically living out of hotel rooms a couple months out of the year, I have not been able to continue my hobbies so easily especially playing the piano. After having a dinner conversation with a co-worker, he mentioned to me that I take online piano classes. He knew of Lana through a relative that recently had a recital that he attended and was impressed with their progress. Sounded like a great idea. I reached out to Lana, put the keyboard in the trunk of the car, and the rest was history! I was a little hesitant of taking online instruction at first but it really has allowed me to continue my hobbies on the road and greater flexibility when I am home as well. The quality of the video streaming works well and I really enjoy the instruction that Lana has provided for me. She seemed to understand my pace of learning and had me fine tuning some technical issues that I was having. I am extremely satisfied with her services and look forward to our instructional sessions. I would definitely recommend her to anyone interested in taking piano lessons online or in person.+ Read More
I began taking lessons from Lana in October 2016, after 50 years of being away from the piano. Who would have thought that learning to play again in my retirement years would bring such joy! I am learning to play classical, popular, holiday classics and looking forward to learning blues and jazz! My THANKS to Lana, who is a very knowledgeable and patient teacher, as well as an accomplished and gifted musician. She knows how to make learning fun.+ Read More
I'm a first time piano student at a ripe golden age that thought I wouldn't have to learn to read notes...haha! I was apprehensive about taking piano lessons at this stage of life. Lana is the best...she is patient, challenging, supportive, and makes learning fun. She starts you off with songs you enjoy playing and builds to a variety. I've only been playing for a short time and I already have a great mix of popular songs and now moving into classical. She even made learning notes fun with an app she found. You learn and play at your own pace. I've seen her interact with young and old and am impressed with her aptitude of working with each person at their unique skill level. I love learning piano from Lana and I would recommend her to people and children of all ages.+ Read More

With zero note reading/playing experience, I find Lana to be a perfect match as my instructor. Starts simple w basics and works up from there. She's truly wonderful.
I have 4 sons aged 21 to 12. They have all taken piano over the years from multiple teachers. Ms. Lana is the best teacher we have ever had by far. She is warm, caring, knowledgable and organized. She sets high yet achievable expectations for her students. I have been amazed at the growth in my sons musicality and interest while taking lessons from Ms. Lana. I feel very fortunate that we found her!+ Read More
Great teacher! Ms. Lana has been in our home for the last 12 years teaching both of my daughters and their expertise is a testament to her teaching ability. Over 12 years, they have learned to read and play very complicated pieces all the while enjoying her lessons and her company. After each lesson, she grades the students performance and gives a very brief report to the parents on how the student is progressing. She encourages parental involvement and genuinely cares for the entire family. Lana is a pleasure to have in your home and a very positive educator for youngsters. I have recommended her to many of my neighbors and she is in high demand in Glenview.+ Read More
Ms. Lana is an amazing teacher. I have three children who take lessons from her ages 15, 12 and 11. We started using Lana because we didn't see much progression with our previous teacher. Since taken lessons with Lana the kids have enjoyed their lessons and shown nice improvement. It is clear that she teaches for the love of teaching piano, it is not just about the money for her. I highly recommend her to anyone who is seriously interested in learning piano.+ Read More
Ms. Lana is a truly amazing piano teacher. My son has been taking lessons with her for the last 2 years. She is a patient and encouraging teacher. She picks music that is both challenging and fun to play. I am very happy with his progress. So many friends and family have commented on how beautifully he plays. And what has impressed me most is the love of music she has helped instill in him. Piano is her passion and she has passed that same joy on to my son. He truly enjoys playing the piano and taking lessons. You can just tell she cares so much about her students and is personally invested in them. I give Ms. Lana my highest recommendation. She is wonderful!+ Read More
Lana is an amazing piano teacher! She started teaching our kids when they were very young until they graduated from eighth grade. They are in high school now and no longer take lessons, but they still sit down at the piano to play their repertoire and some new songs. Lana is a professional; she was always prompt for lessons and was very flexible as the kids became busier with school activities and sports. This was important because there never was a point where my kids would have to choose between sports and piano. We loved Lana's patience with the kids, her positive attitude and passion for music and are most grateful for all the years she graced our home to teach our kids a love for piano and music. Lana pushed the kids to perform at higher levels each year. It's still fun to see people's jaws drop when my hockey-playing son sits down at a piano and plays an amazingly difficult piece. Thank you, Lana!+ Read More
Lana is a truly gifted teacher. She started teaching our daughter when she was 6 (now turning 8). Her progress has been exceptional and she absolutely loves her lessons. Lana is patient and kind and never gets frustrated.. She always makes the lesson positive, upbeat, fun, and productive. Our daughter can tend to get frustrated when pieces get harder and Lana knows just when to pull back to a more fun, easier song, and when to push through and get amazing results. She is truly something special.+ Read More
Lana has been our daughter's piano teacher for 6 years.
Lana has made our daughter a very strong piano player. She taught her from the very beginning starting at how to read music and each year progressing to perform more complex and challenging piano pieces. We have enjoyed having Lana in our home whether it was listening to the lessons or watching her prepare our daughter for a piano recital. Lana has high expectations of her students and is willing to support their success with extra time, patience, and encouragement.
Lana has made music an important part of our family.
Undoubtedly the Fur Elise of piano teachers! This is the second teacher for my little one and just after the first lesson, the difference in Lana’s style of teaching when compared to the previous teacher was quite apparent. The professionalism and the ability Lana consistently exhibits to conjure the personal motivation out of my little one to excel in piano is simply amazing. We have been taking lessons from her for over a year now and my daughter has made strides in reading sheet music, playing steadily, and being more comfortable playing in front of others. When friends and relatives come over they have noticed a difference in her play and have asked what we have done differently. The first time someone asked, my daughter replied “Lana” and I couldn’t help but laugh a little as I was not expecting her to even respond. Lana is an exceptional piano teacher whose love for music is infectious and I would highly recommend!+ Read More
My son took lessons with Lana for over 7 years. She is a very patient teacher, gives praise when deserved and expects a lot from her students in a very loving and constructive way. She always has a smile on her face and made the lessons fun and enjoyable which he looked forward to each week. He has learned to read music effectively and understands dynamics and plays with grace all due to Lana's incredible instruction. My son has started college this fall and even though he is not having formal lessons he requested a keyboard for his dorm room because Lana has instilled a love of music in him. We are forever grateful for her involvement in his passion for music.+ Read More
I have had piano lessons from Lana since I was little. After 12 years of lessons, I am fully capable of reading sheet music and playing any piece. Lana taught me not only how to read the notes, but the importance and beauty of the pieces I play. She made lessons so much fun, which is why I continued on for 12 years! Lana is the best teacher I've ever had and would highly recommend her to anyone looking to play piano.+ Read More
Lana is my daughter's third (and hopefully last) piano teacher. Lana is the BEST instructor! She is loving (yet stern), positive, effective, and truly gets the best from her students.
My daughter has taken a keener interest in playing piano since being under Lana's tutelage (she has played for 7 years, this is her third year with Lana). Whether she's playing Beethoven, Chopin, John Legend or Joni Mitchell, Lana helps my daughter conquer her pieces with confidence and pride (once the pieces are learned).
We have had the old school, hard-core, drill sargeant type of teacher and the lackadaisical, low expectation and low output type of teacher. Lana is neither. Lana focuses on technique, reading music, musicality, presence, and instilling a love of music in her students. And she gets results. Not only has my daughter's skill level improved, her attitude toward piano has completely changed.
Any child would be lucky to have Lana as his/her teacher. We cannot recommend her highly enough!
My daughter has had Lana as a piano instructor for 4 years and we could not be happier! She is a wonderful teacher who is very attentive, patient and caring with our daughter. Lana has a very positive attitude and compliments our daughter with a job well done! We hope to continue learning from Lana for many more years!+ Read More
Great teacher! My son really enjoy taking lesson from Lana in the last year or so. He was with another teacher for a couple years but didn't quite gasp the concept of reading the notes. He was playing by memory which I thought it wasn't right for a beginner or at his level. We since than switch to Lana and noticed the difference when he practice and the techniques he put on during his lesson and recital is incredible to see as a mother. I'm very happy with the way she teaches my son and she shows a very positive feedback with compliments at the end of each lesson. I think that is very important as a teacher.
Since than, my older son have follow my younger son's foot step in taking lesson with Lana as well :-)
What a teacher! I have known Lana for twelve years and have always been impressed with both her passion and dedication. Both my sons took piano lessons with Lana.
She has great communication skills , every lesson with Lana was educational and exciting. Besides learning technical skills my boys have developed a positive attitude to the music. Today they are college students, but they still keep playing the piano, listening to good music and attending classical music concerts. So much of this is due to Lana's influence. It's the best result I could have wished for my children's musical education.
