Kyle began his trombone studies, as many young students, in the sixth grade in Indianapolis, IN. After high school he attended Ball State University where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Trombone performance.
After Ball State, Kyle enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and became a Marine musician. He was then relocated to San Diego, CA where he played with many different ensembles, to include the premiere brass quintet of Marine Band San Diego.
Kyle concluded his enlistment in 2012 and began his Master of Music (Trombone) at the University of Arizona. While studying in Arizona he was asked to travel to Mexico and play in the Orquesta Filarmónica de Sonora for a recording project wiith Arturo Chacόn-Cruz for his CD “Arturo Chacón le canta a México.” Kyle also played trombone for the world premiere of Craig Walsh’s “The Destruction of the Temple of Heaven,” and played trombone in the Studio Jazz Ensemble during their 28-day summer tour of China in 2013.
After his two years in Arizona, Kyle moved to Florida to pursue a Doctor of Music degree at Florida State University. While at Florida State, Kyle played with Jazz Ensemble I for two years, the University Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Chamber Winds, and participated in trombone choir.
After graduation Kyle has been traveling the world and playing trombone on cruise ships. He is currently freelancing and building a teaching studio in, and around, Indianapolis.
