As a life-long student of music, I know how overwhelming the subject can be. In my classical piano roots, no one taught me how music was written. After ten years of study I became highly proficient at reading the notes on the page and moving my fingers to play them but I would hit a wall when it came to truly expressing myself. To get over that barrier I jammed with other musicians, studied music theory, practiced religiously, and listened to as much music as I could. Eventually I found myself able to play authentically and uninhibited, the way I had always wanted. I’d like to help you find that same kind of happiness from true creative expression! When you take piano lessons with me we’ll cover all sides of musicianship with a focus on building creative ability. Your classes will be varied and fun with a wide range of exercises and activities.. We'll play a wide range of pieces from classical, to jazz, rock, pop and more, breaking the music down to learn why and how it works.
