    About Kevin W.

I'm a small town, Wyoming native and ventured to Boston, MA, where I received my bachelor of Fine Arts at the world renown Berklee College of Music. At Berklee, I studied vocal performance, songwriting and music business and became one of the premier vocalists on campus, regularly singing in the prestigious "Singer's Showcase" each year. Quickly after graduating, I was able to tour the United States and Canada in the national touring company of the Broadway smash musical, RENT. Since re-locating to the Southern California area, I've been sharing what I've learned during my career with students, performing in numerous musicals, venues and vocal groups, as well as honing my craft as a singer/songwriter. My song, "Drive", garnered honorable mention from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in 2001. I have two full-length albums under my belt; "Haven't Had Enough" and "Finding Me," and I'm currently in the studio recording my third, which is due to be released in the Spring of 2013. I'm really happy to be back in California after traveling with Holland America as their lead male singer, where I was able to see the Pyramids, the Holy City, the Black Sea, The Colosseum, the Acropolis, Pompeii, the French Riviera, Scotland, the Caribbean...as well as many other places. I feel blessed to be able to sing and make music my life and career. I especially enjoy teaching vocal, piano and acting to students and I find an excitement when in the one-on-one coaching environment. Thanks for stopping by TakeLessons! *** Lesson Details *** It doesn't matter if you are 75 years old and just starting out, or 5 years old and really enthusiastic about learning a new instrument, I am here to help you succeed! Even though there is work to be done, I will do my best to make sure that all the while you are having fun in the process. It's amazing what can be achieved when you are learning about something you've always wanted to learn about. We are all on our own creative paths, and I can't wait to help you along yours. It's your time to shine! Why not have fun while doing so? *** Studio Equipment *** I can bring a small keyboard, laptop with speakers to have vocal lessons. I require piano students to have their own Piano or Keyboard at their home in order for them to practice what we are working on throughout their studies. *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide a small keyboard, my computer and speakers for singers. For pianists, I expect them to have a piano or a keyboard at home so they can practice. *** Specialties *** Upright piano, enough room for parents. waiting area in either downtown Long Beach or Lakewood, CA
