Learn to Play Drums with a Fun and Caring Teacher, 15+ Years of Experience

My music lessons are fun and educational. Students are busy and dealing with life. Music should not be another thing you "get through". Whether you're young and dealing with multiple subjects in school or you're an adult with a job and responsibilities, music should be the place to escape all of that. I want to teach you whatever you would like to learn and develop a curriculum based on your own wants. Want to learn songs from your favorite bands? Great! Let's do that! Want to prepare for college auditions to become a music major? I can help you with that! Want to play music with your friends and be a part of a cool band? I've been there and done that, and can help you with that too. Whatever your reason for playing music, whether its for fun or scholarships or auditions or whatever, music should be FUN! I want to help you with that. There are materials like "Stick Control" and "Survival Guide for the Modern Drummer" but at the end of the day, I want to help you play music, whatever that means to you.

Hi there! I've been playing music for 18 years and teaching for 8 years now! I’ve taught students from 8 years old all the way to 70. I love watching my students grow, as a musician and a person. I’ve been given so many opportunities through music. I’ve traveled with drum corps for 3 months at a time, traveling across the United States and performing in Pro Football stadiums. I’ve traveled to China with a professional orchestra and got to see the whole country. I’ve played more shows that I can count and met so many amazing people. All thanks to the incredible opportunities given to me through music. I want you to have your own experiences with music and I would like to help you get there. Whether it's drums, percussion, piano, or anything else, I want to teach you. I start with strong fundamentals to help you understand not just your instrument, but all of music. This way, you can play any instrument with a bit of practice. I am here for you, whether you want to learn music as a fun hobby or make it your life. I am here to help you in your journey with music and help guide you to your goals.

Kevin is an outstanding percussion instructor! He delivers the delicate balance of patience and high expectations and as a bonus, knows multiple instruments. He’s helped my 11 year old son improve his technique, his listening, his rhythm, and his sight reading on percussion bells. The lessons over Zoom work exceptionally well and it’s one less place I have to take him too. It’s also great that the bell set is portable, as are the lessons, so even when traveling we’ve been able to continue our practicing and our lessons. It can be difficult to find an effective percussion teacher, but look no further if you’ve stumbled on this page.

He is very knowledgeable and you can tell he works with kids. My daughter looks forward to lessons and can see big improvement each week. He is always asking about her current music goals and upcoming auditions. One of her goals was to make jazz band and she did, playing the trap set on a song at the winter concert.
